A few days ago we received an email an email requesting us to attend a Liberatum talk by Manolo Blahnik (highly regarded shoe designer) & Andre Leon Talley(Editor at Large at US Vogue & star of The September Issue) at Spice Market in W London.
We arrived at the W hotel, had a glass of champagne thrust upon us & were promtly ushered into a tiny screening room which was shock nuber two frankly as we had expected a massive auditorium filled to capacity with mad fashion fans & bloggers.
The number was closer to 50, some of which included Vivienne Westwood with her husband Andreas, Hilary Alexander, Stephen Jones & Jade Parfitt.
The pair talked mostly about films; regaling their favourite movies from the 40s, through to 50s & 60s & bemoaning the lack of glamour in modern day silver screen. Though Andre raved about The Kings Speech & then went on to say how much Americans loved Downton Abbey before doing some on point Maggie Smith impressions. The highlight of the talk bar none.
