NYFW: Diesel Black Gold

We do like it when a collection surprises you & on this occasion we certainly were.
When it comes to Diesel Black Gold, you'd be forgiven for expecting to see models strutting down the catwalk looking like a cross between Mad Max & Robinson Crusoe; all battered leathers and distressed denims.
In it's place was a sportier aesthetic. Technical fabrics in navy and white looked slick & modern. Our pick has to be the neoprene jacket as worn by Sebastian Sauve. A hit!

Diesel Black Gold smartens up. With th essence of distressed denim & weather worn accessories still prominent, this season the collection mixes in navy to the characteristic creams & beiges.

NYFW AW2011: Diesel Black Gold

Diesel Black Gold has grown up, in place of the romantic touches of previous seasons, the autumn winter collection looked harder & meaner with a soft centre, much like a Kinder Bueno. Love a dash a military in camel & butterscotch.
Also Chace Crawford was there. Swoon.

For those of you living under a rock, it's currently New York Fashion Week (London starts Friday) Here is a picture backstage at Diesel Black Gold. The SS collection, the first collection designed by Sophia Kokosalaki is inspired by the West Coast of America and have a vintage feel with worn fabrics & sun-bleached fabrics. Good hair too.
