Art Attack

Continuing their foray into the art world, having already exhibited a mini collection of Tracey Emin pieces, super brand Louis Vuitton is showing work by Turner Prize winner & sometime transsexual Grayson Perry in their behemoth of a store on London's Bond Street.
We suggest if you're within a five mile radius you swing by & check it out
(& even pick out a little present for yourself. You deserve it!)

Travel Bug

Travel being a big trend in menswear, Louis Vuitton are right on it with these beautiful postcards of hotels from around the world. They are adhesive too, and you're meant to stick 'em on your Louis Vuitton trunk of course, but if that's a little out of reach you could get started on these lovely stickers which are a bargain at £53 for box of 30. Available in stores and at Louisvuittton.com

Big Trunks

Spotted at the Louis Vuitton show, the V symbol in the centre was used throughout the collection. A definite contender for modern classic.

Directly opposite us. Kanye, Michael Stipe, Lilly and Beau (eye contact..) Max Irons.
No sign of Nick Grimshaw, relegated to second row, aw.

Zebra Fun!

Excuse our shitty camera work, but look how much fun the zebras are having in the Louis Vuitton window. We couldn't help but smile at our juggling safari mates.

Emin Exhibition

For those who like their fashions a little more highbrow; To coincide with the launch of Tracey Emin's latest exhibition Love is What You Want at the Hayward Gallery, the exhibition space at Louis Vuitton on Bond Street is dedicated to the artist. Neon signs inspired by the show and limited edition scarves are on display as well as drawings and a short film.

Royal Wedding Fever at Louis Vuitton

We have tried to not get too excited on the blog about the forthcoming royal wedding (although in all honesty it's all we've been able to think about these past few weeks)
We like Louis Vuitton's nod to the occasion at their Bond Street maison.

Animal Art

We were at the Louis Vuitton press day yesterday to check out the accessories. We were in awe of the animals created by Billie Achilleos. We spotted a beaver, armadillo, chameleon & cricket amongst others...

Kim Jones for LV?

For anyone still reeling from the news that Kim Jones was leaving his post at Dunhill last year, it appears the one time sportswear designer has been appointed Head of Menswear at Louis Vuitton, replacing Paul Herbers (We heard this on Twitter so it must be true!)
This seems a good fit for Mr Jones as Louis Vuitton's Menswear always has a smart meets sporty aesthetic to it, something which we're sure will be nurtured in due course.

Amazing or Gross?

Possibly both.
Louis Vuitton did show tattooed models for this season but this takes it a little far...

Paris Fashion Week AW2011 Review pt 1

Louis Vuitton: Orange & greys. Double breasted. Black starkness.
Kris Van Assche: Loose, angular suiting. Zips. A restrained palette of blacks, greys & caramel but this is AW after all.
Dior Homme: Also designed by Kris Van Assche & very nice it was too. Set in a stark white room with P.Diddy on the front row. Following on from the fluidity of the previous season but with added, thicker layers in cashmere. A hint of red & amish style hats.
John Galliano: Not as much flesh as we're accustomed to. A sort of modish, sixties Brit vibe with Beatles style hair & pea coats that descended into 'backstage at the theatre', nodding it's head at the current trend for ballet russian influences mixed with turbans & full make up.
Great coat on the right.
Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci: Took over an hour to start. Rottweiler prints. Brown check.
Love the shorts with tights, we're all over that already.

Louis Vuitton Host A Cup & It's in San Fransisco This Year.

We're not sure exactly what that means (as sport isn't really our bag baby) Louis Vuitton sponsor a cup, we think it involves boats & it is being held in San Fransisco in 2013. On a separate note, We would like Louis Vuitton to sponsor the London Olympics in the mean time.
Add a bit of glamour.

A Late Christmas Message

We can safely say this is the last time we will mention Christmas for quite some time.
(Until we have to start working on the December issue in July at least) We saw this Louis Vuitton card in Grazia over the holidays & felt proper left out. However there was one each waiting for us this morning. All is right with the world.

People. The Industry Cares Not For AW Now. It's All About SS11

The shiny new Louis Vuitton SS11 lookbook arrived on our desk this morning!
Yey!...which was a welcome reminder of how god damn gorgeous this shirt is.
(& how blinkin' hot that day was)
