YSL Manifesto SS2011

Every season the good people at YSL dish out their manifesto (in a lovely canvas shopper) on the streets of the World's fashion capitals. Which usually involves us running around Bond Street desperately looking for the vendor (resembling an Evening Standard seller, only infinitely chicer) only to give up after 5 minutes then spend the rest of the day seeing smug fashion types parading round town with their monogrammed totes. Anyway rant over, here's a scan of one of the fabled pages. Glamourous non?

Paris Fashion Week AW2011 Review Pt2

Raf Simons: The brightness was toned down slightly, mixed with the obligatory camels & blacks of Winter staples. Cropped duffel coats. Rounded shoulders.
Amazing magenta and indigo shades.

Lanvin: lovely carpet. very plush. The bright colours we have seen so far have been dulled slightly. jewelled colours in ruby red, golds and emeralds. Exposed zips & raw edges among the Lanvin staples. Those hats scream Carmen Sandiego.

YSL: From Stefano Pilati; Jewelled colours featured heavily too. Emerald & saphire blue.
A slight sixties vibe in the modish trouser suits. The sharpest tailoring you ever did see.
Body conscious layers with oversized outerwear.

Paul Smith: The 300th duffel of the season! love a cute boy in a duffel. bright yellow with flashes of silver. paper bag waists. Inspired by a full moon!
